Single-layered, 100% linen, Elizabethan ladies hair covering with long cotton tapes to tie around the hair. The fabric was custom machine-embroidered in black thread, as a replica of the blackwork embroidery pattern on an extant 16th century hood in the V&A museum. Shape and construction of the coif are based on a number of extant 16th century coifs.
Small-scale cotton lace on the edge and finishes it off neatly. If you’d like rayon cord on the edge instead of the lace, please just order one of these and leave a note in the checkout section that you’d like the different edge finish. Allow 7 days before shipping for me to make it for you.
These fit a 21-23.5″ head with an average to full head of hair, with or without an extra added braid.
