Carcanets (pronounced KAR-kuh-nets) are ornate, jeweled necklaces worn throughout the 16th century by well-dressed grand ladies. They ranged in length from close around the neck to longer and wider, very like collars of state.

My version of these feature the Jeweled Tudor Ouches which you can also purchase separately, or which can be used in a matching Elizabethan Girdle or back billiment on a French Hood. The items shown below are in stock and ready-to-ship. Custom orders take four weeks from order to ship date.
Due to the Trump tariffs on goods originating from China, I am unable to fulfill orders at this time. I have turned off ordering until I figure out what to do - or if there is a way to move forward. This fabric is wonderful! I had a 1610-15 Jacobean jacket made from this material and it is magnificent!

This pattern is superb. It prints out perfectly and easily aligns, and everything fits together. I could have used a teensy bit of instruction – like “sew to here” on CF, and a note to insert ribbon before stitching on facing, but with the help of the photos I eventually figured it out. Thank you very much for making this pattern available.
