This style of felt hat can be worn fashionably by men or women. However, its size is quite small, since it is intended to be worn perched on top of a coif rather than sitting down on the head. (Although it can be worn sitting squarely down on the head as well) It measures 21″ inches around the head. It is black, with black guimpe trim and curled ostrich wing feathers, and boasts a pencil-curled brim, which requires that the edge wire and trim are applied by hand. It’s absolutely adorable.
